Beam partners with Shelter!
Everyone has a part to play
One of our deeply held beliefs at Beam is that homelessness will be solved when everyone works together. That includes charities, the government, tech startups and - last but definitely not least - the public. Everyone has a part to play.
Since the beginning, we've worked in close partnership with the charities sector to build a model that works for everyone. Most importantly, that means the individuals we exist to support. But also the case workers at charities on the front-line.
Charities including St Mungo's, Thames Reach and Centrepoint refer individuals to the Beam platform. They also provide crucial advice on how we can improve the Beam model and drive ever better outcomes for Beam members.
We've been discussing the strong fit with Shelter since Beam won First Prize at the London Homelessness Awards when we met Alison Mohammed, Shelter's Director of Services, who was on the judging panel.
We're thrilled to announce today that Beam's newest charity partner is none other than Shelter! Shelter have deep expertise and knowledge of housing and homelessness - and is a charity the Beam team hugely admire.
How will Beam and Shelter be working together?
Shelter do outstanding work at their "Hubs". Shelter Hubs provide a one stop shop offering information, support and advice to anyone struggling to keep a roof over their heads.
Thanks to this partnership, Shelter will now be able to refer individuals from the Hubs to the Beam platform.
As a supporter, you'll know which members have been referred by Shelter. Because, unless there are risk issues, the referring charity is transparently shown on the member's campaign page.
Shelter have several Hubs across London, in Hackney and Islington. The Beam Team is thrilled to start working with the Shelter team, led by Connie Cullen.
Welcome Shelter! We're so excited to work together to end homelessness, one person at a time.
